If you feel depressed, anxious, isolated, and alone, and are at a loss as to how to get relief,
I can help.
I have over 15 years of experience, and I’m specially trained to assist you in learning how to effectively manage depression, anxiety, grief and loss, trauma, anger, and many other mental health problems.
I graduated from West Virginia University in 1999 with a Master of Science in Rehabilitation Counseling, and spent the first 13 years of my career working as a Clinical Therapist for West Virginia University Medicine Chestnut Ridge Center and University Health Associates.
Possibly, your past is hurting you and you need new skills for the present. These are the kinds of problems people bring to counseling and talking with me can help. Through insight, skills training, and mind/body awareness, I will help you to move into a better future.
If you’re an individual needing to improve interpersonal relationships or needing to learn how to cope with intense mood swings and emotional outbursts, I can provide the skills you need to effectively regulate your emotions and improve interpersonal effectiveness. You can also learn distress tolerance and how to live your life “mindfully” and more balanced.
At Lotus Place, my approach is somewhat eclectic; however, I generally incorporate CBT (Cognitive Behavior Therapy), DBT (Dialectical Behavior Therapy), and Motivational Interviewing, as well as, Solution-focused Strategies, into our sessions so that I can design a treatment course that is tailored specifically for your problem. Together we can apply strategies to resolve your personal issues and assist in effectively and efficiently reaching your goals.
